Asbestosis is the scarring of lung tissue that results from inhaling asbestos fibers. This condition may result in shortness of breath, or more serious symptoms. People with Asbestosis are at a higher risk for developing lung cancer. The condition may lead to a rare but virulent form of cancer called Mesothelioma, a cancer of the lining of the lungs and chest cavity.
