Biography

Meghan Barry joined the firm in 2011 and is an associate attorney. She is admitted to practice in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. Meghan graduated cum laude with a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Connecticut College. 

Meghan’s practice is entirely focused on litigation. It includes creditor’s rights and judgment enforcement, subrogation of automobile accident claims, contract claims, and products liability and sexual harassment defense. She has tried several cases in the state District and Superior Courts, and moderated a panel discussion, “Trying Civil Cases in District Court,” at the Rhode Island Bar Association’s Annual Meeting in 2018, as well as spoken at the 2017 Annual Meeting on “Compassionately and Effectively Dealing with Pro Se Litigants.” She has extensive experience in creditor’s rights and judgment enforcement, and successfully argued such a case before the Supreme Court of Rhode Island, CACH, LLC v. Potter, 154 A.3d 939 (R.I. 2017). She served for three years as a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association Nominating Committee, selecting members of the executive committee of the Bar Association, and has been the chairperson of the District-Court Bench Bar Committee since 2017. The Committee worked with the Court to change the District Court Rules of Civil Procedure, Rule 4, resulting in a change to the rule.
